Weird Vista Installer Kerning?

During the Vista install process, several messages are displayed describing the new operating system's capablities.

Oddly, the type used in these messages appear to have severe kerning issues. Look at the screengrab below and examine the m and c pairings. Rolling over the image exposes a detail view with the offending pairs underlined.

Maybe it's me, but I somehow expected better from a major desktop OS vendor in 2007, especially from a company that touts new attention paid to interface matters.
